Hoi An Marble Mountains (Danang)
Visiting Marble Mountains is one of the top things to do in Hoi An (Danang)! Hoi An Marble Mountains pleasantly surprised me with beautifully carved Buddha statues in limestone caves, cute little shrines and amazing view from several viewpoints! I loved everything about Hoi An but going to Hoi An Marble Mountains was one of the highlights of my Hoi An trip.
10 things about Hoi An Marble Mountains (Danang)
1. Five mountains and five names of Hoi An Marble Mountains
There are five mountains in Hoi An Marble Mountains and the names of these five mountains are from 5 different elements! They are Kim(metal), Thuy(water), Moc(wood), Hua(fire) and Tou(earth)! But the most famous Hoi An Marble Mountain that people visit (in general) is THUY SON (water mountain)!
2. Water Mountain(Thuy Son)
Hoi An Water Mountain (Thuy Son) is the most popular one and it is known as the Hoi An Marble Mountains among 5 Marble Mountains. It has two different entrances. We chose to go up through the gate on the left side, not the elevator side just in case we want to take the elevator at the end of our trip in Hoi An Marble Mountains.

3. Amazing Hoi An Marble Mountains (Water Mountain: Thuy Son)
If you take the same route as me (gate on the left side, not the elevator side), you can see different Buddist temples and Buddha statues. It is pretty quiet here and peaceful.
4. Limestone caves in Hoi An Marble Mountains (Thuy Son)
After visiting these temples, you will walk into different limestone caves. There are beautifully carved Buddha statues and cute Buddhist shrines! They are so amazing. Especially I was really impressed by the big and tall stone-carved Buddha statues in and outside of the limestone caves of Marble Mountains! And they are really well-preserved!
Even though you are not a Buddist or you are not that interested in temples, Marble Mountains is worth visiting since it creates a really good spiritual vibe somehow! I think you will enjoy it!
5. Viewpoints at Marble Mountains
There are several viewpoints but if you don’t have enough time or energy to hike up all the viewpoints at Marble Mountains, then I recommend going to the one called Stairway to Heaven!
6. Stairway to Heaven at Hoi An Marble Mountains
Stairway to Heaven is my favorite viewpoint at Marble Mountains! You have to take so many steep stairs though! Don’t expect that it is easy to go to Heaven! 😉 Only the one who is fit and has a good heart can go to Heaven, right? 🙂 (If it’s tough to go up, take a rest each time! You can make it!!!!!! 🙂 )
You can have a really nice view at the top of Stairway to Heaven in Marble Mountains. It’s a place that you can look down the whole city and take nice photos! 😉
It’s a bit challenging to go all the way up to Stairway to Heaven, but when you go on the top of the Heaven, your every single sweat and pain on your knees are worth of the short hike! (No worries, it takes less than 10 minutes! But very steep! 🙁 )
7. Warnings before visiting Hoi An Marble Mountains
It is called Marble Mountains, but it’s not really a mountain mountain. But it’s definitely tough to go all the stairs especially if you are not that fit!!! If you think it’s going to be tough for you, I recommend taking an elevator first, and look around Marble Mountains! That will be easier and more pleasant for you!
