Before talking about 5 things you will see in Batu Caves
Visiting Batu Caves is one of the top things to do in Kuala Lumpur and it’s free! 🙂 It has limestone caves with Hindu temples and shrines. Batu Caves is popular among both tourists and Hindus. Here are 5 things you will see when you come to Batu Caves.
5 things you will see in Batu Caves
1.The Giant Murugan Statue
The Giant Murugan Statue is the first thing you will see when you come to Batu Caves. It is almost 43 meters tall and it is the highest Murugan statue in the world. It’s so tall that you will simply be amazed by the size of the statue.
Batu Caves is one of the important Hindu meccas for Indian-Malaysians and Indians from India, you can see many different kinds of Hindus from newborn babies to old grandmas who came here for various reasons. If you haven’t been to any religious Meccas, it would be amazing to be in here and feel the spiritual vibes.
3. Colorful Indian Statues
Even though Buddism is from the same root as Hindu, but the colors of Indian Statues are so vivid and the Statues are also very unique. They are very different from Asian golden buddha statues. It will be interesting to see the differences between these two if you haven’t been to Hindu temples.
4. 272 Stairs!!!!!!
To go up to the main Batu Cave, you should walk up very steep stairs! And they are 272!!! As soon as I saw these stairs, my leg felt weak already.
But let’s be positive! Time to lose some fat you got from eating delicious Malaysian food! 🙂 I believe you can make it! Also, there are some animal companies on your way up to the top of these 272 stairs! 😉
Macaque? Yes, Macaque. Macaque is a name of the monkeys that you will see at Batu Caves. And they are your animal companies that won’t make you bored while taking 272 stairs! There are so many of them!
If you haven’t been to Ubud Monkey Forest or any other monkey sanctuary, it will be a great opportunity for you to see the monkeys here! But you’d better get to know about these monkeys before visiting Batu Caves! 😉
